Abstract

This article is devoted to the history of development of factual programming on French television. The author studies the problems faced by French journalists during the early stages of creating a "television newspaper". The author also focuses on the characteristics of each stage in the formation of such French news programmes. The study is conducted with reference to archived factual programming available on the website of the National Audiovisual Institute (fr. Institut national de l'audiovisuel, INA)
