The article is based on the report presented at the panel discussion session 'Practical aesthetics in the semantic field of journalism' which took place on the 14th of April, 2017, at 'Higher School of Journalism and Mass Communications' St. Petersburg University within the framework of the 56th St. Petersburg Readings 'Media in the modern world'.

 

Abstract

The report analyses the media image of the 'artistic era', which is presented in a modern lifestyle periodical, as an opportunity of an aesthetic experience for the reader, as the way of forming their manner of living.
